The author, Gilbert M. Lane, M.A. is a retired Language Arts teacher who taught at an East Harlem junior high school in Manhattan, NYC. In his 30 years of experience as a teacher, he has created many teaching and learning aids. He already owns one United States Patent and has copyrighted several board games, including his most recent one, FLAGSHIPS TM. Due to his accomplishments, he was listed in the 1979 edition of Who’s Who in Technology Today, Volume 2. Mr. Lane is also listed in Who’s Who in the East, 24th edition, 1993-94.
Gilbert M. Lane received a Bachelor’s Degree from the City College of the City of New York in 1963 and a Master’s Degree in Education from the City University of the City of New York in 1974. He has also completed courses at Bronx Community College, St. John’s University, and at Iona College.
Aside from his many years of classroom teaching, Mr. Lane has served as Dean of Boys and as Assistant Director of an East Harlem junior high school, He is presently the CEO of Lane and Lane Enterprise, a company which he founded in 1992 for the purpose of producing new and exciting educational materials, such as the geography board game, FLAGSHIPS TM. This book is another way for him to continue his efforts in the field of education.
